Man took overdose.

A man was found dead in his home after taking a toxic mix of alcohol and anti-depressants.

Keith Urwin's badly decomposed body was discovered by police after friends and family told officers they had not seen him for two weeks and he was not responding to calls on his mobile phone.

An inquest into Mr Urwin's death heard how the 51-year-old, from Waterloo Street, Newcastle, had suffered from depression for the past 20 years.

On November 30 last year, police forced entry into Mr Urwin's home and found him dead in his bed, with empty cartons of an anti-depressive prescription drug beside him.

Newcastle coroner David Mitford recorded a verdict of suicide.
