Man to be sentenced over teen rape.
William Howard Dyer, 57, of Coedylan Road, Pontypridd, denied the offence but was found guilty by a jury at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court.
Dyer's victim gave evidence at the court telling the jury that Dyer partially undressed himself before turning his attentions to him.
The young teenage male told the court that Dyer had then partially undressed him, hooking his finger around his trousers to pull them down before lying down and grabbing the boy behind the neck, pulling him down onto him.
The court heard Dyer then forced his victim to perform a sexual act on him but that he was interrupted when someone walked in on them on May 25 last year.
Giving evidence, the teenager said: "He [the defendant] did not say anything. I was scared.
"He was drunk at the time." The court heard it was "one in a billion chance" that the DNA found on Dyer belonged to someone else and not the teenager.
A hoard of gay pornographic DVDs was also found in his shed.
Dyer told the jury that he was heterosexual and denied having any sexual feelings towards the boy.
He told the court he had bought the DVDs at a car boot sale and had stored them in the shed until he had a chance to bin them.
He also told the jury he believed his victim was gay and that the boy had "taken advantage" of him.
Dyer was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on March 13.
