Man suspected of drink driving kills motorist at traffic lights.
A 48-year-old whom police suspect was driving his vehicle under the influence of alcohol and who had reportedly been previously convicted for the same offence, and having had his licence suspended until next year, slammed into the rear of a car stopped at the traffic lights in Limassol early on Friday, killing its driver, 25.
Police said the incident happened at around 3am in the Enaerios area on Limassol's coastal road.
The 48-year-old who was speeding and apparently drunk, was driving his vehicle without a valid driver's licence and insurance.
Reports said the man, a former tax driver, had been given a two-month suspended sentence earlier this year for speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.
His professional and normal licences were also revoked until the end of January 2016.
The man was arrested but refused to undergo a breathalyser test, police said.
