Man pressed fake gun to teen's head.

A MAN was jailed yesterday for pressing a revolverstyle cigarette lighter to a teenager's head.

Gary McClintock, 27, was given a 16-month sentence after admitting threatening to kill two boys, aged 15 and 16, and having the imitation firearm in Derry on November 29, 2013.

The court heard McClintock, of Dundrean Park in the city, had 69 previous convictions and committed the offences when he was drunk and pestered the boys, who are non-smokers, for cigarettes.

Judge Philip Babington said: "It was pointed at close range by the defendant at the two youths, both of whom were terrified and thought it was a real gun."
