Man jailed for taking advantage of two girls aged just 14.
Rishpal Makker, of Church Street, Welshpool, was placed on the sex offenders' register for 10 years and made the subject of a 10-year sexual offences prevention order which prevents him from being alone with girls under 16.
Judge Niclas Parry said he had taken advantage of the friendship of the girls.
It started when he regularly communicated with them by text . The texts became more and more sexual.
The schoolgirls ended up in his home where he abused them for his own sexual grati-fication.
Judge Parry said that he accepted that there was no force, or threats, and that their texts to him were just as graphic.
He said reason for the legislation was that young girls sometimes needed to be protected from themselves, he said.
"You knew that they were only 14. You were eight years older than them," the judge told him.
The two victims had been left distressed and confused which had added to their preexisting vulnerabilities. The defendant pleaded guilty.
The matter came to light when one of the girls informed her mother.
Simon Rogers, defending, said that the prosecution accepted that the activity was entirely consensual and that the explicit texts had been sent in both directions.
