Man jailed for death threats; CARDIFF.

A JILTED man who threatened to burn down his ex-girlfriend's home with her children inside was jailed for a year yesterday.

Raymond Simmonds, 42, admitted harassing former lover Charlotte Gerrard, saying, "I'm going to burn down your house with your kids in it."

Prosecuor Elizabeth Pearson said Simmonds also threatened a neighbour.

"He told her, 'I know where you live and you are dead, your kids are dead and your boyfriend is dead. I'm going to burn down your house with your kids in it'."

Builder Simmonds, of Ely, Cardiff, admitted two charges under the Protection from Harassment Act at Cardiff Crown Court. A two-year restraining order was imposed.
