Man held after big cannabis farm find.

POLICE uncovered cannabis plants worth more than pounds 200,000 in raids.

Acting on tip-offs and built up intelligence, officers in Sefton swooped on two addresses yesterday.

At the first property in Wadham Road, Boo tie, they found more than 300 plants. One man was arrested for being concerned in the production of a controlled drug and was questioned throughout the day.

Later in the day, officers went to an address in Waterloo Road, Waterloo. There they found another 300 plants. They are now looking for whoever was growing the drug.

At both addresses the cannabis was being produced using hydroponics systems, fans and heat lamps.

Inspector Neil Turner of Merseyside police said: "The cannabis seized has been estimated to have a value of pounds 200,000."
