Man dies following multi-vehicle crash at A30 Clockhouse roundabout near Ashford; Police say a second man has been taken to hospital.

A man has died following a crash involving "a number of vehicles" at the Clockhouse roundabout on the A30 nearAshford.

Metropolitan Police says a second man was taken to hospital but is not in a life-threatening condition.

Police and ambulance crews were called at around 9.40pm on Sunday(September 8) following reports of a collision. Paramedics pronounced a man dead at the scene.

A Met Police spokesman said: "Detectives are investigating a fatal collision in west London.

"Police were called at 9.41pm on Sunday (September 8) to reports of a collision involving a number of vehicles by the Clockhouse roundabout close to the A30.

"Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended. A man -- no further details -- was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

"A second male has been taken to hospital for treatment -- an initial assessment deemed his condition was not life threatening.

"Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating."

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have captured it on dash cam is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8543 5157.

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 9.42pm yesterday (September 8) to reports of a road traffic collision on Clockhouse Roundabout in Feltham.

"We sent an incident response officer, an ambulance crew, two medics in cars and our hazardous area response team (HART) to the scene.

"We treated two people at the scene. Sadly, one man was pronounced dead at the scene. The second person, a man, was taken to hospital."

The A30 London Road eastbound was closed following the crash. It reopened at around 8.20am on Monday morning (September 9).
