Man dies by grave.

A PALLBEARER collapsed and died by a freshly dug grave as a funeral service was taking place.

David Jones was thought to have suffered a heart attack while laying flowers at a teenager's graveside.

Mourners of 18-year-old Christopher Dumper were kept in the church for 20 minutes as medics tried to save Mr Jones, in his late 60s, of Gloucester.

Canon Keith Corless told the service at Brockworth, Glos, of his death.

Mr Jones' boss, funeral director Graham Cocks, said: "He had been fine and had driven the funeral car to the church. He was a marvellous chap."
