Man admits killing wife.

A BAHRAIN resident has reportedly confessed to murdering his wife in India.

Hotel worker P Aby, 30, apparently told Kerala police that his wife, Sheeba, 28, had been having an affair.

The GDN reported on Friday that he had been arrested after going on the run.

Online Indian news portal Naattinpuram, which has been providing extensive coverage of the case, said he had been made to re-enact the brutal murder of his wife at the couple's house in Harippad, Kerala.

It said he admitted to police that he used a knife to stab his wife several times after being arrested near Kottayam railway station last week upon returning from Chennai.

His wife's body was found on June 3 with deep head and neck wounds, while her tongue had also been cut off.

One of his friends told the GDN on Thursday that he had been shocked by the slaying, describing Mr Aby as "quiet and kind".

The friend said the couple got married in January last year, shortly before Mr Aby moved to Bahrain.

He allegedly discovered his wife, who was pursuing a Master's degree in nursing in Bangalore, had an affair with a fellow student, according to Naattinpuram.
