Man accused of attack with a shovel.
A MAN has appeared in court accused of attacking a homeowner as he had gardening work done.
Keiran Rouse, of Briar Drive, Dewsbury, faces charges of causing grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in public.
The alleged incident happened on April 6 at an address in Dewsbury.
Kirklees magistrates heard that the 54-year-old victim was having work done in his back garden when he saw Rouse picking up one of the shovels. The 25-year-old allegedly struck the man on the top of his head up to six times before walking off with blood on the shovel.
The victim suffered three loose teeth and had to have 30 stitches to his head as a result, the court was told.
Rouse was sent to Leeds Crown Court where he will first appear on April 22 and was remanded in custody.
