Man Dies In Car Pile-Up.

A DRIVER swerved across a motorway yesterday causing a multi-car pile-up which left one man dead and several people injured.

The huge crash on the country-bound carriageway of the M2 at Fortwilliam closed the M2 and M3 motorways for more than two hours yesterday, leading to traffic chaos.

Five cars and a lorry were involved in the accident, which happened when glaring sunlight bounced off the damp motorway surface, blinding one of the drivers.

Police said the dead man, who was in his 50s, had been a driver in one of the cars.
