Man, North's double loss is hard to take!
In the opening match, no-one could make any headway in the singles and the visitors soon led 4-0 without losing a set.
The doubles proved more competitive and Lauren Young and Alison Wetherell put North on the scoreboard with a 24-22, 21-17 win.
Andy Fowler and Adam Curry were unlucky to lose 22-20 in the third in their opener.
Both reverse men's were close throughout, Ian Lambert and Anthony Norris combining better, but both pairs lost by the same score 21-16 in the third.
Despite a win for Victoria Brewis and Emma Reaston, the match was gone at 10-2 going into the mixed.
Notwithstanding a three-set effort from Lambert and Young, North went down 13-2. North started the second match in similar fashion to the first in not gaining a set in the singles.
Reaston was forced to retire injured in her opening set and North were indebted to Nicolle Henry for turning up to substitute for her in the doubles at 30 minutes'notice.
The men's doubles started well for North, each pair taking their opening sets, but the Manxmen fought back to level both.
The ladies had lost both opening sets but Young and Wetherell hit back to win 21-18 in the third.
Lambert and Yeung then took a hold in their deciding and took it 21-8 - and Fowler and Curry were rewarded for their efforts by taking their decider 21-14.
In the reverse doubles, the men again both took their opening sets and Yeung and Lambert followed that up 21-18 in the second for their second win of the day.
Two of the three mixed were needed for a valuable point but, despite a two-set win from Anthony Norris and Brewis, the final score was 10-5 to the islanders.
