Man, 75, cleared of sex assaults on teen.

A 75-YEAR-OLD man accused of sexual offences against a Huddersfield youngster has been cleared by a jury.

Wycliffe Spencer, of Meadowcroft Mews, Leeds, had pleaded not guilty to two charges of sexual assault on a child under 13.

The allegations related to an incident back in 2007 when S p e n c e r wa s alleged to have put his hand under the girl''s top.

The defendant was also said to have put his hand down the girl's jeans on the same occasion.

But yesterday a jury at Bradford Crown Court returned not guilty verdicts on both charges. Spencer gave evidence to the jury through a Jamaican interpreter and insisted that he had not committed the offences.

His barrister Chloe Hudson asked Spencer if he had ever touched the girl on her tummy or chest.

"I never, never, never put my hand on her and I didn't touch her. Not at all," replied Spencer.

"'Did you at any time put your hand down her jeans?" asked Miss Hudson.

"No. Never, never," said Spencer.
