Man, 32, arrested following crashes.
A DRIVER escaped unscathed after crashing into several parked cars in Middlesbrough.
The 32-year-old man was detained after the accident on Monday night.
Police were called to Overdale Road in Park End to find the driver had been held by the owners of the damaged vehicles.
Officers from Cleveland and Durham Road Policing Unit said the lone occupant of the vehicle got out unscathed "amazingly".
A spokesman added: "Those same members of the public who had just had their cars damaged before police arrived detained the male who refused to provide a breath specimen.
"Refusing to provide is seen by the courts in the same way as drink-driving offences and has the same punishment."
He was arrested for failing to provide a specimen of breath and was released on bail pending further inquiries.
