Malta : Statement By The Ministry Of Education And Employment 18 Students With Specialization In Football Who Attend The National Sport School Will Participate In The First Training Camp In The United Kingdom.

A joint collaboration between the National Sports School (NSS) and the Malta Football Players Association (MFPA) will lead 18 Player of the Year 11 (Form 5), with their age is that of 15 and 16 years, will participate in camp training in the UK.

This is the first project of its kind and is expected to be organized every year. The collaboration involves students with specialization in football where they will have the opportunity to train and play against some of the best academies. During this training camp, which will be spread over five days between 9 and 13 following July, students Maltese athletes will participate in three friendly games against Leeds United, Sheffield United, and Walton . This opportunity will be giving the players Young opportunity to experience the life of a player professional, will compete at the highest levels, and showcase their talents in front of i agents scouting .

In his speech the Minister for Education and the Labor Evarist Bartolo reiterated that sport is essential and forms a large part of youth education. He said that to have a school in our country aimed at sport to give future for our children to have nice prospects in this area, the Government has invested in buildings and facilities over the last six years and will continue to invest . The Minister explained that to enrich our children in the sport environment, working at primary schools, average and even side where increased activities of sport and physical and in the coming weeks will be announced new initiatives in this regard. The appeal of Minister Bartolo aimed at students athletes is that important opportunities are taken seriously, and above all to believe in themselves and want to work very positive results not alone but there must be great personal commitment to b'sagrifi??ji talent continues to develop a successful one. The Minister ended his speech thanked all of which contribute financially to continuously NSS and congratulated the students for this opportunity to continue advancing overseas and recalled that Maltese athletes are capable and skilled as others and this wonderful experience should serve for life.

Meanwhile, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Sport and Voluntary Organizations Clifton Grima said that these kind of events are essential to the development of these young people so it is important to take advantage of them. The Parliamentary Secretary said that the Government is giving the necessary tools and students to use them in the best possible way to advance forward in the sporting career. "When loves get results for you is get yourselves honor but above all for our country," concluded Parliamentary Secretary Grima.

The Head of NSS Robert Magro showed his pleasure for this collaboration will be providing opportunity for new learning for students and maintain its commitment to further work among students to future careers in sport.

Secretary General of the MFPA Carlo Mamo made reference to the position paper of the new MFPA, where the development of homegrown players is one of the main pillars. He said that this project is in line with this objective, given that through this investment, are given an opportunity of unique development to players promising 16 and 17 years.

While explained in detail the program that will be followed in the United Kingdom, the coach Paul Zammit stressed the importance of such training camp this, to a greater understanding of the life of a student -atleta.
