Maloney boasts he is the new Manilow.

CRUISE-ship crooner Christopher Maloney reckons he is Britain's answer to Barry Manilow.

The Liverpudlian, 34 - who sang Lionel Richie's Dancing On The Ceiling and Abba's Fernando on last night's show - hopes to be an arena star just like his hero, whose hits include Bermuda Triangle.

He said: "I'd love to fill stadiums. I've just got to get through these finals. I think I might be the answer to Barry Manilow, that is a compliment, Barry Manilow is a legend. Copacabana and all that. Gary and others have compared me to Susan Boyle as well."

Christopher, who lives with his nan, says he has been using his new-found fame to help others.

He said: "I've had a couple of people get in touch with me who have been bullied and I've put them through to bullying helplines. I've also been asked to open a cancer unit in Merseyside. I feel really honoured that I can give something back."
