Malik publicizes agreement between Musharraf and Sharif: NRO is a legal document Interior Minister.

Islamabad, January 11, 2012 (Frontier Star): Interior Minister Rehman Malik has made public the details of the agreement between Pervez Musharraf and Nawaz Sharif. He was talking to the media on Tuesday. He said that those elements, which went abroad by seeking pardon from a dictator, are now talking about Article 6 of the constitution. They also should tell the nation regarding the nature of their relations with Mansoor Ijaz, who had already terms with Israel. He said that NRO was not only for People's Party. Only few people of the party took advantage of the ordinance, but it benefited many other leaders from various parties including MQM. It was the reconciliation like South Africa that had legal authenticity while the agreement between retired General Musharraf and Sharif was the private deal. He said that Benazir Bhutto was not in the favour to abolish all the false cases against her before coming to Pakistan. "I received the draft of NRO and submitted it to Benazir Bhutto. Then she called Pervez Musharraf and rejected the draft. After that US Secretary of State at that time Condoleezza Rice called BB ad told her that US want timely elections in Pakistan", he revealed. Malik said that the nation should ask NAB that what happened to the probe of all these cases. The cabinet of Shaukat Aziz had approved the NRO and it was a law. He said that Nawaz Sharif fled from the country after seeking apology in black and white after getting sentence in a criminal case. He said that the documents of apology letter have the signatures of Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Abbas Sharif and Hussain Nawaz in which they promised not to come to Pakistan for the period of ten years. "If I would be assassinated then all the details regarding this would be available with my son Barrister Ali Rehman", interior minister added. He said that he faced all the cases against him as he gives due respect to the courts and he never committed any contempt of the court. Later he chaired a high level meeting, which was held to review the implementation of Aghaz Huqooq-i-Balochistan Package. In the meeting it was also decided to regularize the services of 5000 contractual employees of Balochistan. The meeting also decided that a special task force would be formed to monitor the speed of execution of the projects started in the province under the package. It was also decided that no FC or Coast Guard officials would prevent any one on the highways and roads of Balochistan but a patrolling force consisting of Customs officials would be made for checking the people. After meeting while talking to the media Rehman Malik said that all the authorities have been returned to the provinces whereas NFC award and package for the development of Balochistan are the commendable jobs of PPP government. He said that the commission for missing person is performing its duty in befitting manner and Ministry of Interior is full cooperating with it. He said that the law and order in Balochistan is deteriorating for the last several months. The steps are being taken to improve the situation in Quetta. The state of affairs got worsened after removing the FC from the mountains behind Quetta. He said that he respects all the Baloch leaders including Atta Ullah Mangal. "I would make contact with those Baloch leaders which went on the mountains after getting annoyed", he added.
