Malaysia : BHIC enters In-Service Support contract with MOD.

Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Bhd (BHIC) announced the signing of a formal contract with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) to validate the In-Service Support contract awarded on March 21.

Last month, the company's subsidiary, BHIC AeroServices Sdn Bhd (BHICAS) had secured a letter from the MOD, awarding it a contract for the maintenance and supply of spare parts for the Royal Malaysian Air Force EC725 helicopters.

Effective March 24, 2014, the RM220 million contract is valid for three years.

BHIC stated in a filing to Bursa Malaysia that there was no difference between the substance of the contract and the letter.

BHIC, the shipbuilding, heavy engineering and defence-related business arm of Boustead Holdings Bhd (BHB), is involved in the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of helicopters, ships, submarines, combat management systems, defence electronics, electrical equipment and internal combustion engines.
