Makkah thief-killer testifies in court.

Summary: MAKKAH: A Saudi citizen in his 50s, who shot dead an overstayer who allegedly broke into his home in Al-Rusaifah district with the intention of stealing, authenticated his confessions before the general court in Makkah Wednesday.

He said he asked the thief to leave the house immediately and fired four shots in air to scare him off, but the thief did not only refuse to leave but took the hose out of the gas cylinder and was looking for a lighter to set the house ablaze. "At that point I fired 14 shots from my machine gun that killed him immediately," the Saudi said in his confession. The gunman said he killed the intruder in self-defense after he refused to leave the house and attempted to kill everyone in the house by setting it on fire. The man, a mathematics teacher with 26 years experience, was taken back to the police station after authenticating his confessions in court. He has four daughters and two sons. One of his daughters has won a number of prizes for educational excellence and was nominated for a competition abroad to which she would travel after Haj.
