FAIRSKIN

Fair skin has blue understones, so look for shades that are sweet but icy.

EYES Dark shadow can overpower if you're fair-skinned. Stick with lighter looks in pink, lavender, icy white and silver. Grey is a good neutral choice for eyeliner.

CHEEKS Put some glow on those cheeks with cream formulas in icy pink and rose, or try a very light bronzer.

NAILS Soft. sheer colors look best on fair skin. Try light pinks and ivories. If you want a little drama, go with browns.

PEACHY SKIN

If you have a warm peaches-and-cream complexion, choose yellow-based colors to enhance your skin.

EYES Add brightness to your eyes with peach or gold highlighters. For fun, try a warm purple or cactus green. Brown is the best neutral color for lining your eyes.

NAILS Lanky you--most colors look great on beige skin tones. But the best shades are peach, toffee, coral and rich, deep hues of brown, red and berry.

OLIVE SKIN

Olive skin tones look great in rich neutral colors. Just avoid very warm shades--they can leave you looking sallow.

EYES Colors that look great? Pink. rose and white. If you want brown, pick a blue-based or neutral brown. Stay away from warm browns or olive-y shades. Highlight with soft, sheer golds--avoid yellow or mustard golds. Line your eyes with black/brown.

BROWN SKIN

Bronze skin looks best in bold, warm colors.

EYES Accent your eyes with copper, gold or light bronze. Warm purples or warm bright-blue are bolder choices.

EYES Try pink-ish gold to subtly enhance your eyes. A pretty choice? Charcoal and sheer pink will brighten. Going out? Brush on emerald green or sapphire blue.

NAILS Bold, vibrant hues pick up the warmth in dark skin tones. Try browns, reds, berries and taupe-y beiges. Terra cotta looks good, but be wary of strong orange shades--they aren't always fluttering to you.
