Make it local this Christmas at Moorhouse Farm Shop; ADVERTISEMENT FEATURE.

THE team at Moorhouse Farm Shop are gearing up to get everything ready for a truly local Christmas.

A range of top-quality turkeys and geese complement the great pork, beef and lamb from their own farm.

Owner Ian Byatt said: "Since we opened, it's great to see customers coming back for the 11th year in a row. That tells me the quality is right."

The farm shop has poultry to suit everyone - free-range bronzes and whites, barn reared, crowns and boneless stuffed roasts are all available as well as hand-dressed geese.

The butchers and kitchen team get really busy in December homecuring gammons and producing the award-winning handmade sausages, chipolatas and stuffings customers have ordered to go with their turkeys.

Homemade Christmas puddings and Christmas cakes from the Farm Shop Kitchen are always popular.

Farm shop manager Rob said: "Loads of fresh veg, local cheeses, beers and desserts mean that our customers can get everything they need to go with their Christmas lunch.

Customers can even taste the produce they have ordered at one of the popular Christmas Lunch days on Sunday, December 7 and 14 in the coffee shop.

Many of the orders come directly through the farm shop itself or by phone, but to keep up with the growth of internet shopping, the farm shop introduced an online ordering service several years ago.

Ian added: "Both existing and new customers have found this to be really convenient.

"More than a third of our orders now come through the dedicated Christmas ordering page on the website."
