Access to E-mail Accounts and Over-The-Air-Programming

Technology-

Mail.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:MAIL), a leading Messaging Service Provider (MSP) to businesses and end users, announced today it has partnered with OUTERCURVE technologies(TM), a leading provider of wireless applications and services, to provide access to their e-mail accounts through wireless PDAs, beginning with the RIM Blackberry(TM) (NASDAQ:RIMM; TSE:RIM), pager device.

Under the agreement, users in the U.S. and Canada will have two-way access to their e-mail accounts giving them the ability to send and receive messages using their Mail.com branded wireless pagers. They will also have access to other customized Internet applications through Outercurve's proprietary middleware solution using over-the-air-programming (OTAP) technology. Outercurve's wireless applications built for PDAs can access the full power of the embedded processor, while retaining full compatibility with existing standards such as WML, XML and Java. This technology maximizes the limited memory inherent in today's PDAs, freeing users from their desktops and allowing efficient application downloads over the air.

"This significant step in our US wireless strategy allows us to provide our users with two-way access to their e-mail accounts, rounding out our approach to provide the ultimate solution in flexibility and features for the demanding e-mail user," said Courtney Nichols, President of Mail.com's Personal Communication Services.

"In addition, our partnership with OUTERCURVE technologies(TM) gives us the opportunity to participate in the emerging wireless value chain provided from delivering Internet content and commerce through mobile devices, a rapidly growing source of revenue in the US wireless market. As the only e-mail outsourcer with a large scale ad network, the opportunity to commercialize this technology for a diverse consumer base is a key competitive advantage. The potential for incremental revenue from the sale of value-added applications and location-based targeted advertisements is enormous."

OUTERCURVE's wireless software offers Mail.com users various financial services including brokerage and trade execution, portfolio tracking, watch lists, graphs and charting and news from Reuters, Zacks and Edgars. Additional wireless content includes flight tracking, restaurant and direction locators, weather, news and many other applications.

"Because Mail.com is a scale leader in the Internet messaging industry, teaming up with them to provide their users with anytime, anywhere wireless access, gives us the opportunity to reach millions of users with our value-added products and services. This partnership will bring Mail.com users customized wireless software not yet experienced on other web based e-mail platforms," noted Eric Solash, President of OUTERCURVE technologies(TM).

As one of the world's largest Internet messaging service providers, Mail.com has begun implementing an aggressive wireless strategy to provide every user with two-way universal wireless access to e-mail and the Internet. In July, Mail.com partnered with BulletIN.net, a leading provider of two-way wireless Internet messaging products and services for wireless carriers. The partnership allows Mail.com users in the United Kingdom to send and receive filtered e-mail messages using wireless handsets.
