Lowdown Goodwood, 6f, Tuesday 2 ch c Shamardal-Mood Swings (Shirley Heights) Trainer Mark Johnston Owner Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Breeders Anthony Stroud and James Hanly Lowdown was sent off 2-1 favourite to land this maiden after two encouraging outings and he duly obliged, striding away to win by a length and a quarter from Red Badge to become the seventh winner for his freshman sire.

Lowdown is a half-brother to this season's Airlie Stud Gallinule Stakes winner Grand Ducal and is the ninth foal out of Mood Swings, herself a 6f two-year-old winner. He cost John Ferguson 100,000gns at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October yearling sale.
