Magellan Behavioral Health Names Jeffrey Senior Vice President of Marketing.

COLUMBIA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 2000

Magellan Behavioral Health recently named Michael Jeffrey senior vice president of marketing. In this role, Jeffrey oversees all marketing functions for the company including proposal development, marketing initiatives and marketing information systems.

This role has been newly created as part of Magellan's key strategic objective to develop enhanced marketing capabilities to complement its sales capabilities.

Jeffrey has over 25 years of experience in the behavioral health care field. Prior to joining Magellan, he served as a principal for William M. Mercer, Inc. in Baltimore, Md., where he provided consultation services on the development, selection, implementation, and review of behavioral health care programs for Fortune 500 companies and state governments. Jeffrey also assisted clients with integrating behavioral health, employee assistance programs, and work-family programs.

Previously, Jeffrey held a variety of operations positions with American Psych Management, Inc., where his responsibilities included the management of clinical operations as well as the development of clinical networks, policies, and procedures for the company.

Jeffrey began his career as a mental health counselor in a variety of settings in northern and central Virginia. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at several community colleges in Virginia where he taught courses in mental health, sociology, and social services.

Jeffrey holds a master's degree in social work from the National Catholic School of Social Service as well as a bachelor's degree from Duke University, Durham, N.C.
