Magazine pays tribute to Bahrain's police force.

The Interior Ministry has dedicated its monthly Al Amn magazine to mark the centenary of the police in Bahrain.

The special bilingual issue features the portrait of His Majesty King Hamad, the Supreme Commander.

The magazine issued by the Public Relations, Media and Security Culture Directorate saluted the police on its centenary and highlighted its decades-long role in defending Bahrain and protecting national achievements.

The magazine paid tribute to the early rulers of Bahrain, who played a trailblazing role in building the nation and bolstering security - from the epoch of Ahmed Al Fateh and the era of the late Amir HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa.

The special issue sheds light on the historical development of the police, from 1937 until 2019.

It looks back to the development phases led by the then Public Security chief Shaikh Khalifa bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, who joined the police in 1937.

He was succeeded by Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, who was appointed in 1961 as Police and Security chief, followed by Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, who was appointed Interior Minister in 1971.

Chapter

A new chapter was then heralded when General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa was appointed Interior Minister in May 2004.

Gen Shaikh Rashid embarked on a wide-ranging strategy to modernise the ministry and upgrade work procedures.

In an article titled 'Bahrain police... success stories and dedicated march', public relations, media and security culture director general Brigadier Mohammed bin Daina paid tribute to the King for laying the foundations of citizenship and advanced society while paying homage to the early nation-builders.
