Madeline: European adventure.

Madeline is one of twelve girls living in an orphanage in Paris. In this program--the third and best of the Madeline series--you help Madeline recover a genie's lamp that has been stolen and taken to Turkey. To get there, you (and Madeline) search Paris for clues, earn some money, and get a passport. Then it's off to Switzerland, Italy, and finally Turkey. Each stop is filled with puzzles to solve.

You'll enjoy Madeline's adventures and the quirky characters she meets. You'll also learn about the countries, capitals, and flags of Europe as Madeline travels across the continent by train. We especially like the fact that the hero is a heroine; in the world of CD-ROM games, it's usually a boy who is in charge. Here, a smart little girl is the star, and we think that is tres bon, (French for "very good").

Madeline: European Adventure is made by Creative Wonders, 1-800-KID-XPRT, and is suggested for children five and older.
