Macromedia unveils new Studio 8 design suite.
Macromedia Inc (Nasdaq:MACR) it is to launch a new design suite aimed at web designers, developers, video professionals and graphic artists, called Macromedia Studio 8.
Studio 8 combines the most recent releases of Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash Professional and Macromedia Fireworks. The new offering also includes the productivity tools Contribute and FlashPaper which enable designers and developers to maintain a streamlined approach to their web content. New video encoding tools provide users with a simplified method for creating and publishing interactive video and CSS enhancements and visual authoring tools for XML are also a new feature of Studio 8.
The addition of Contribute 3 to Studio 8 enables web professionals to modify content in a template-based workflow that improves efficiency and FlashPaper 2 extends the content creation process by converting file types into web-ready PDF or SWF file formats.
Studio 8 is due for release in September 2005, with localised versions in alternative languages being available shortly after. Pricing is USD999 for a full licence and USD399 for an upgrade.
