Macklemore's Thrift Shop closes down.

A SEATTLE second-hand clothes shop featured in Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' 2012 hit Thrift Shop has closed down.

Macklemore has taken to social media to express his disappointment.

The Seattle Times reported the Value Village thrift store in the city's Capitol Hill neighbourhood has shut its doors. It had been there since 1996.

A spokesman for the company said: "Though unfortunate, certain business conditions have made it necessary to close our Value Village thrift store in the Capitol Hill neighbourhood after a number of years of leasing the space on a month-to-month basis".

The store was one of several thrift shops used for Macklemore's video.

The music star, 32, rote on twitter: "Ah hell no!!!"
