Machete found in park.

POLICE found a fearsome ten-inch blade in a Birmingham park amid an alarming rise in machete attacks across the region.

The huge knife was recovered during a police sweep of a Balsall Heath park.

And it was pictured in a tweet shared by West Midlands Police yesterday.

Sparkbrook Police tweeted: "Following a weapons sweep of a park in Balsall Heath this machete has been recovered.

"Weapons cause serious harm. "If you see anyone with an item similar to the below call us.

"#WatchOut #SPARKBROOKNHTAREABOUT."

The discovery comes amid a terrifying machete crime wave which hit Birmingham in recent months.
