 MVMA REPORTS PRELIMINARY NEW TRUCK SALES FOR OCTOBER
 WASHINGTON, Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Franchised dealers of truck


manufacturers sold 406,732 units in October, a record for the month, according to a preliminary report issued today by the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association of the United States, Inc.
 Retail sales for the month ran 33.9 percent above the 303,727 units sold for the month a year ago. There were 27 selling days in this period, the same as a year ago.
 October sales were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5,286,000, a 39.1 percent increase from the October 1991 seasonally adjusted rate of 3,799,000 units.
