 MVMA REPORTS NEW TRUCK SALES FOR SEPTEMBER
 DETROIT, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Franchised dealers of truck


manufacturers sold 391,214 units in September -- the highest September sales since 1986 -- according to a preliminary report issued today by the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association of the United States, Inc.
 Retail sales for the month ran 11.8 percent above the 349,925 units sold for the month a year ago. There were 25 selling days in this period compared with 24 a year ago.
 September sales were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4,467,000, an 8.1-percent increase from the September 1991 seasonally adjusted rate of 4,132,000 units.
