MURRAY POT SHOT.

ANDY MURRAY has given rival Juan Martin Del Potro the cold shoulder in the build-up to their US Open quarterfinal in New York today.

Publicly, the 21-year-old Brit insists he has no score to settle with the 6ft 6in Argentinian after blasting Stanislas Wawrinka 6-1 6-3 6-3.

But there was plenty of aggro the only other time they met in Rome in May when an emotional Del Potro was forced to retire with a back injury. Murray accused Del Potro, 19, of firing a volley straight at his head.

Then the South American launched an insult about Murray's mother.

"I haven't spoken to him since," said Murray. "I wasn't great friends with him before. I don't need to be friends with him now. When you get on the court you've got to put your emotions aside and get the job done."
