MURDER PROBE LAUNCHED; Violent Britain KILMARNOCK.

DETECTIVES yesterday launched a murder probe after a 15-year-old boy died in a late-night disturbance.

Hewas found with serious injuries after an altercation in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, around 11.25pm on Friday night. The victim, not yet named, was taken to the nearby Crosshouse Hospital, where he died.

Police said they were treating the death as murder after getting results of a post-mortem examination.

No further details about what happened, or the nature of the teenager's injuries, were available from police - who appealed for witnesses.
