MUM NAMES TAXI BIRTH BOY AFTER CABBIE.
Rebecca Wilson's son was born in the back of Alastair Maclean's cab as he drove her to hospital.
And the young mum was so touched by the cabbie's kindness, she has named her son after him.
She said: 'The driver was brilliant and very calm. We've named the baby Alastair.'
Rebecca, of West March, Dundee, called for a cab after her waters broke on Tuesday.
Alastair, who works for 203020 Taxis in the city, picked up Rebecca, 21, and her boyfriend's mum Connie Gordon and headed for Ninewells Hospital.
But it soon became clear the baby was about to be born.
Alastair handed over his mobile phone to Connie so she could ring the hospital and get staff to talk her through the delivery.
The 6lb 8oz baby was born safely soon afterwards.
Dad-of-two Alastair said: 'I am very flattered that the wee boy has been named after me, but I was only doing my job.
'I'm just delighted to have been some help.'
