MULTIMEDIA, INC. ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE PROMOTIONS

 GREENVILLE, S.C., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Executive promotions and a realignment of the Multimedia corporate staff were announced today by J. Williams Grimes, President and Chief Executive Officer. Robert E. Hamby Jr. has been elected Senior Vice President Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer of the corporation. Thomas L. Magaha has been elected Vice President-Finance and Development/Controller of Multimedia, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: MMEDC) and Alan D. Austin elected Treasurer.
 J. Clyde Baucom was promoted to the position of Vice President- Personnel and Benefits, and Claudia I. Price to Vice President-Taxes. It was also announced that Markeeta McNatt will join the company as Vice President-Investor Relations and Corporate Communications replacing Elizabeth S. Mills who will be retiring at year end.
 Hamby joined Multimedia in 1985 as Vice President-Controller and was named Vice President-Finance in 1986. He was elected Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of the company in 1987 and elected to Multimedia's Board of Directors in 1990. Prior to joining Multimedia, Hamby was a partner with KPMG Peat Marwick in Greenville, S.C. He is a graduate of The Citadel and holds a Masters of Accountancy from the University of South Carolina.
 A veteran of the company since 1979, Magaha joined Multimedia as Assistant Controller. He was named Controller of Multimedia Broadcasting Company in Cincinnati in 1981 and Controller of Multimedia, Inc. in 1986. He was formerly a senior accountant with KPMG Peat Marwick and received his B.S. and Masters of Accountancy from the University of South Carolina.
 Austin joined Multimedia in 1990 as Assistant Treasurer of the company. From 1977 until joining Multimedia, he was with Citizens and Southern National Bank of South Carolina. He served as a Vice President in their Greenville corporate banking department from 1983, and before that was a Vice President in the Rock Hill commercial loan department. He is a graduate of Furman University and Sonier Graduate School of Banking. Austin was also recently awarded the C.F.A. designation from the Association for Investment Management and Research.
 Baucom joined Multimedia in 1987 as Corporate Director of Personnel and Benefits. From 1980 he was Director of Personnel and Administration for Bigelow-Sanford, Inc. and previously Manager-Personnel Administration for Liggett & Myers, Durham, N.C.
 He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and holds a B.S. in Industrial Relations.
 Prior to being named Vice President-Taxes, Claudia I. Price was Director of Tax for Multimedia, Inc., a position she held since joining the company in 1984. From 1980 to 1984 she was associated with the Ernst and Whinney (now Ernst & Young) tax department in Greenville, S.C. Price holds a B.S. in accounting from Bob Jones University and a Masters of Accountancy from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech).
 Before being named to her new position with Multimedia, Inc., Markeeta McNatt was Investor Relations/Corporate Communications Manager of The Southland Corporation in Dallas, Texas. A member of that company since 1978, she had been Corporate Publication Manager in Southland's Investor Relations Department and Public Relations Editor. Prior to that she held positions in Dallas with The Oakley Company, International Communications Consultants, Inc., and Ruder & Finn of Texas, Inc. McNatt has a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Texas and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
