MUELLER INDUSTRIES INC. APPOINTS WILLIAM D. O'HAGAN CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

 WICHITA, Kan., Dec. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Mueller Industries Inc. (NYSE: MLI) announced that William D. O'Hagan has been appointed chief executive officer. Effective Jan. 1, 1994, O'Hagan will succeed Harvey L. Karp. Karp will continue as chairman and remain active on a full-time basis.
 Karp, chairman, stated, "Bill O'Hagan is a well-known and respected leader in our industry. His many accomplishments since joining Mueller have contributed substantially to the growth of our company."
 O'Hagan, 52, will continue to hold the office of president. O'Hagan joined the company in June 1992, appointed president in December 1992 and appointed to the board of directors in January 1993. He has over 30 years experience in the industry. He graduated from Rutgers University and Harvard Graduate School of Business.
 Mueller Industries Inc. is a leading and diversified fabricator whose products include copper tube and fittings; aluminum and copper impact extrusions; plastic fittings and valves; brass and bronze forgings; refrigeration valves, driers, and flare fittings; and brass and copper alloy rods, bars, and shapes. The company also owns a short- line railroad in Utah, a placer gold mining operation in Alaska, and other natural resource properties.
