MUCH as I enjoy the life-affirming positivity of BBC2's carpentry'n'caring show Jay's Yorkshire Workshop, I do worry that in the long run it might suffer from the fact that it lacks the variety of Jay Blades' other uplifting hit The Repair Shop.

Still, if Jay and the producers are cunning enough, I reckon they could make it to series three before the people receiving a gift run out of ways to act surprised that they've been given something made out of wood.

First episode of series 4 though? We're definitely getting at least one "Oh, a park bench. You shouldn't have."

ON Wednesday's This Morning, Eamonn Holmes asked viewers: "Do you ever tell little white lies to make things sound more interesting?"

No, Eamonn. But as we sat watching the show via satellite from the top-deck jacuzzi of my PS40million superyacht just off the coast of Antigua, Margot Robbie, Maya Jama and I had to agree it was a good question.

TV quiz

IN BBC2's When Ruby Wax Met on Sunday, who was Ruby talking about when she said: "I've met psychopaths before and they're always charming"?

A) Tom Hanks B) Boris Johnson C) Donald Trump D) OJ Simpson. The answer was D, but you could probably take a point for C as well. Not B though, obviously. Ruby never interviewed him.
