INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS-(C)1995-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Quizilla.com, an online community for user-generated content, has been acquired by MTV Networks (MTV), a music and entertainment company.

MTV Networks has acquired the site, which reportedly attracted 3.1m unique visitors in September, from Gorilla National, an online ad-sales representation company.

Quizilla.com, which is aimed at female teenagers, joins MTV's MTV Kids and Family Group digital portfolio, which also includes the NeoPets.com and The-N.com.

According to the MTVN Kids and Family Group, it intends to make Quizilla.com a destination site offering a deeper sense of social networking.

MTV did not disclose the financial terms of the deal, but said it was one of the group's smaller online purchases.
