MTV HAS NO ALTERNATIVE MONDAY NIGHT AT MIDNIGHT

NEW YORK, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- On Nov. 15, MTV will show their commitment to a very special cause by showing their support for the "No Alternative" album. The artists include Nirvana, Soul Asylum, Patti Smith, Soundgarden, Sarah McLachlan, Urge Overkill and many more. Monday evening at midnight MTV will air the hour long "No Alternative" special hosted by Matthew Modine. The show will feature live performances by Smashing Pumpkins, Buffalo Tom, The Breeders and the Goo Goo Dolls all performing the songs they recorded exclusively for this album. Lou Reed will make a rare appearance with a spoken word piece. The show will also feature the world premier video of "Superdeformed" by Matthew Sweet.
"No Alternative" is a production of the Red Hot Organization (RHO) in association with the AIDS Music Project (AMP). The Red Hot Organization, "No Alternative"'s executive producer, was created in 1989 to raise money and consciousness to fight AIDS through popular culture. Since that time, the organization has released two albums and television specials: "Red Hot + Blue" and "Red Hot + Dance," selling over two million records and raising over $7 million to existing AIDS organizations, funding research, relief and prevention education.
Arista has continually shown a strong commitment to raising money for AIDS-related causes via such special projects as the single "That's What Friends Are For" (which raised $1.7 million for AMFAR), the Arista 15th Anniversary Special, and other activities throughout the company's history.
