MRT opens late on Sunday.

The Metro Rail Transit III (MRT-3) will operate late at 10 a.m. on March 22 to undergo rail replacement works.

"We are scheduling in such a way as to cause the least inconvenience to passengers", Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Secretary Jun Abaya said.

According to the DOTC, around 192-meter worth of rails will be replaced on the northbound tracks between the Taft Avenue and Magallanes stations.

The 7,296 linear meters of brand new steel rails wil be received by June 2015 which will be used for further rail replacement works, DOTC said.

Meanwhile, there will be no change in the regular Saturday operations on March 21.
