 MRS. PAUL'S INTRODUCES NEW LOW-FAT BREADED SEAFOOD LINE;
 BREAKTHROUGH TECHNOLOGY DELIVERS FRIED TASTE WITHOUT THE FAT
 CAMDEN, N.J., Dec. 9 /PRNewswire -- Campbell Soup Company's (NYSE: CPB) Mrs. Paul's line is creating a new segment in the frozen breaded seafood category using new technology and a breakthrough formulation that duplicates the taste and texture of breaded, fried seafood -- without the fryer.
 The result is Mrs. Paul's Healthy Treasures, a line of frozen breaded fish sticks and fish fillets with only three grams of fat per serving. The line will be available in supermarkets nationwide beginning January 1992.
 By eliminating the frying process, the fat content of the Healthy Treasures line is reduced by more than 60 percent versus regular breaded seafood products. The Healthy Treasures line is also controlled for calories, cholesterol and sodium. Campbell has filed for three patents on the proprietary technology behind the new line.
 "Healthy Treasures represents a major breakthrough in frozen, breaded seafood -- and one that will likely revitalize the category," said Ray Johnston, Mrs. Paul's marketing manager.
 "Americans' favorite way to eat seafood is breaded and fried -- but we know many people have cut back on their consumption because of nutrition concerns. Now, they can enjoy the great taste of breaded fish fillets and fish sticks with less fat than they'd find in a serving of tofu, an 80 percent lean ground beef patty or a hard-boiled egg," he said. In fact, Healthy Treasures fish fillets and sticks are as lean as a serving of skinless white meat chicken. Johnston said the new low-fat line will likely attract new users to the breaded seafood category as well as former users who left the category due to nutrition concerns.
 Beyond delivering an exceptional nutrition profile, Johnston said the new Healthy Treasures line also delivers great taste. "While more and more consumers are searching for healthy foods -- those foods have to taste great or they'll only be bought once," he said. "That's why our research and development group created more than 100 recipe formulations -- and conducted more than 4,000 consumer evaluations around the country -- to arrive at the optimal Healthy Treasures recipe." The Healthy Treasures line scored extremely high in consumer taste tests, Johnston said.
 The suggested retail price for the Healthy Treasures fish sticks and fish fillets is $2.89. The introduction will be supported by consumer advertising, promotion and public relations.
