MR. COFFEE OFFERS SOLUTION TO NATION'S LEAD PROBLEM
BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio, Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- As over 32 million

people across the United States are dealing with excessive levels of lead in their drinking water, Mr. Coffee, Inc. has found a solution. The new Mr. Coffee Water Filter removes more than 90 percent of the lead which may be present in tap water, which is good news for people living in the cities affected by this problem, including New York, Washington D.C., San Francisco, and Phoenix.
Lead, copper, chlorine, odors and other contaminants are removed as tap water flows through the replaceable resin and activated charcoal filled cartridge that is placed at the top of this pitcher-style filter. Using the replacement cartridge, it costs about 15 cents to filter a gallon of water. This is a tremendous savings when compared with the cost of bottled water.
Rick Carpenter, Mr. Coffee's vice president of marketing, said, "Consumers can't afford to wait while city officials try to solve this lead problem. They need a solution right now, and we believe that our water filter is the answer."
The lid of the Mr. Coffee water filter contains an innovative counting device which measures usage and prevents over-use. When 200 pitchers (100 gallons) have been filtered, the filling area locks shut, preventing any more water from flowing through until the filter cartridge has been replaced. A red gauge becomes visible in the lid of the pitcher after 190 uses, alerting the consumer that it is almost time for a replacement cartridge.
As a convenience to consumers, the Mr. Coffee Water Filter can be purchased directly from the company by calling 800-321-0370. The filter is also available in many stores that carry Mr. Coffee products.
Mr. Coffee Inc., headquartered in Bedford Heights, Ohio, is the leading manufacturer of automatic drip coffeemakers today. The company is also an industry leader in the production of the innovative Iced Tea Pot, replacement decanters and coffee filters.
