MPM SAYS CHINESE CONCERN SEEKS TO MARKET SKYGAS WASTE PLANTS IN 10 CITIES

SPOKANE, Wash., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Montana Precision Mining Ltd. (MPM) (NASDAQ: MPML) said today that Winnerway Industries (Holding) Co. Ltd., Dongguan City, Guandong Province, People's Republic of China, has expressed intention to market MPM's Skygas technology waste process plants in 10 Chinese cities.
Such a plan would require construction of a minimum 20 Skygas plants with an aggregate estimated cost of $160 million, said MPM venture partner Xytel Technologies, Mt. Prospect, Ill. Xytel is a world leader in the manufacturing of pilot plants for the petrochemical and paper industries.
Today's development follows up MPM's June 30 receipt of Winnerway's letter of intent to purchase up to two Skygas plants to process Dongguan City's waste products and sludge, and to further assist MPM in "promoting and expanding Skygas applications in the People's Republic of China."
Skygas is a patented process for converting carbonaceous materials such as wood chips, agricultural waste, sludge, tires, medical waste, municipal solid waste and auto fluff into clean burning, medium BTU fuel gas which can be used to generate steam for electric power generation or for conversion into a variety of valuable chemicals.
Commenting on today's announcement, MPM President Charles A. Romberg stated it "offered strong confirmation" of Skygas' marketability in the Orient. He said he believed the deal with Winnnerway could be consummated "before the end of the year" and that additional agreements in Asia, Europe and around the world could be achieved "in the near future."
MPM's other partners in the Skygas venture include Smogless S.p.A., Milan, Italy (belonging to the Laidlaw Group - Canada); and Enprotech Corp., New York, N.Y., a wholly owned subsidiary of Itochu International, formerly C. Itoh & Co. (America) Inc.
