BEIRUT: MP Mouin al-Merhebi confirmed that Electricite du Liban (EDL) supplied the Jird al-Kaiteh region with electricity all Wednesday night without justifying the outages that had occurred prior to that for an entire week. Merhebi's remarks came in a statement issued Thursday in which he said that they were still waiting for EDL to provide the region with 12 relay electricity stations for speedy transformation and supply operations. He added that they were also still waiting for EDL to assign the personnel needed to install more than (10,000) electricity counters and (100) transformers in the Akkar region to supply villages and houses with electricity. "We are still waiting for the electricity supply program for the Jird al-Kaiteh region," Merhebi said. -- The Daily Star
