MP praises Unite union; NEWSBRIEF.

VALE of Glamorgan MP John Smith has congratulated the union, Unite, for its campaign which has led to measures being taken by the Government to ensure that tips will reach workers in the Vale.

From this October it will no longer be legal to use customers' tips to make up the minimum wage and any tips left for staff will be in addition to basic pay.

Mr Smith said: "I believe in fair pay and fair tips. I congratulate Unite for its work."
