MOVIE STAR ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF JERRY SANDAK TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 NEW YORK, March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Mark M. David, chairman of the board of Movie Star, Inc. (AMEX: MSI) today announced the appointment of Jerry Sandak to a newly created seat on the company's board of directors.
 Commenting further on the announcement, David stated, "We are pleased and honored to add Mr. Jerry Sandak to our board of directors. We are confident that his strong background in finance, extensive knowledge of the apparel industry and overall business acumen will greatly augment the board's ability to help guide our company's growth."
 Sandak is presently executive vice of Rosenthal & Rosenthal Inc., the largest independently owned factoring company in the United States. In that capacity, Sandak heads Rosenthal & Rosenthal's factoring division and asset-based lending division. He has been with Rosenthal & Rosenthal for more than 34 years, and possesses more than 44 years of experience in the finance industry. He is also currently a member of the executive committee of the Commercial Finance Association, considered to be one of the most prestigious trade groups in the asset- based lending industry.
