ARCHITECTURE

Doug Hurley has been promoted to principal for Perry L. Butcher & Associates, Architects in Rogers. Hurley was previously an associate with the firm and will be the project developer for Butcher's largest national client.

BUSINESS SERVICES

John Garrison has been promoted to director of sales for Standard Business Systems in Little Rock. Garrison was salesman of the year. Steve Fisher has joined the sales team at Standard. Fisher will promote network printing devices and other output services for North Little Rock, Sherwood and Cabot.

EDUCATION

Yupo Chan has received the Harland Bartholomew Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers in Houston for his contributions to civil engineering in urban planning and development. Chan is a professor and founding chair of the systems engineering department in the Donaghey College of Information Science and Systems. Engineering at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Steve Landers of Benton, president of Landers Auto Sales and the south-central region of United Auto Group, and Rodney H. Bobo of Hope, part-owner and president of General Farm Services Inc. and other businesses, have been elected to the board of directors of Summit Bank of Arkadelphia. Bobo is also president of Bobo & Bain Construction Inc., Truck Maintenance Inc. and Caney Creek Farms Inc.

HEALTH CARE

Walter Johns on Jr. has received the C.E. Melville Young Administrator of the Year Award from the Arkansas Hospital Association in Little Rock. Johnson is the vice president of ancillary and support services at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.

Alison Eberly has been appointed vice president of the St. Vincent Foundation in Little Rock. Eberly will be responsible for major and planned gifts. Peyton Woodyard was appointed major gifts officer of the foundation.

Brandi Roach has joined the office of Dr. Charles A. Hanby in Springdale as a dentist. Roach graduated from the University of Tennessee Dental School in Memphis.

MANUFACTURING

State Rep. Jerry Allison, D-Jonesboro, owner and president of Allison Manufactured Homes, has been inducted into the Arkansas Manufactured Housing Association Hall of Fame for his lifetime dedication to the manufactured housing industry.

John Bennett has joined Gates Rubber Co. in Siloam Springs as an information technology business analyst. Bennett worked for Towne Services in Suwanee, Ga., before joining Gates. Also at Gates Rubber, Kent Farguson has been promoted to electrical engineer, Rulon Foster has been promoted to IT analyst and programmer, Thomas McClarty has been hired as an engineer in the manufacturing development center, and Dale Trainer has been hired as plant controller. Farguson was an electronic technician before his promotion. Foster previously worked as a plant controller. McClarty previously worked for Guardian Industries in Rogers. Trainer previously worked for Universal Furniture in Morristown, Tenn.

MARKETING

Jodie Spears has been promoted to public relations director for Forza Marketing Group in Little Rock. Spears was the senior copywriter and broadcast producer for Forza.

NONPROFIT

Ellen Fennell has joined Horizons Stewardship in Cabot as a consultant. Fennell was president of Clear Pointe Communications before joining Horizons.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

Humphrey Funeral Home in Russellville was awarded the Pursuit of Excellence Eagle award from the National Funeral Directors Association in Brookfield, Wis. Humphrey received the award for its community service, professional integrity and public relations programs.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Kirby Lance Davis has joined Northern Arkansas Telephone Company as a network services analyst. NATCO is an independent company that provides telephone service for a 658 square-mile area in Marion and Boone Counties.
