MOURNER IS SHOT DEAD AT CRASH TEEN FUNERAL; Families flee in terror during gang hit.

Byline: TOM PETTIFOR; ANDREW GREGORY

A MAN was shot dead as gang violence erupted at a teenager's funeral yesterday.

He was thought to have just left the burial with around 200 mourners when he was blasted six times at close range. A second lad in his late teens was shot in the foot as terrified families and children ran screaming for cover.

The horrific attack followed the burial of Joel Morgan, 17, who died in a car crash last month. One woman, who was too scared to give her name, said: "We didn't know where to run as no one knew where the shots were coming from.

"A few seconds later I saw a group of youths, possibly around a dozen, running away from the scene. They looked very young." Joel, thought to be from Brixton, had just been buried at Camberwell Old Cemetery in East Dulwich, South London, when gangsters struck at 3pm.

A man in his early 20s was confirmed dead at the scene. The wounded teenager was taken to hospital. A third person was treated for shock.

Mourners had warned on Twitter about a potential gang clash hours before the funeral.

Detectives are investigating a nearby Peckham gang. Three men were arrested last night and were being quizzed at a South London police station.
