 MOTORS INSURANCE CORPORATION ANNOUNCES PERSONNEL CHANGES
 DETROIT, May 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Joseph J. Pero, president of Motors


Insurance Corporation (MIC), a subsidiary of General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC), announced the following personnel changes:
 James T. Irving, vice president of claims for National General Insurance Company (NGIC), a subsidiary of MIC, has been named director of claims for MIC. Irving will retain his current title at NGIC and will relocate from NGIC's headquarters in St. Louis to MIC's headquarters in Detroit. Irving will report to William M. Boechler, vice president of claims for MIC.
 Barry J. Davenport, property claims manager for NGIC, has been named manager of MIC's property claims section. Davenport will report to Irving.
 Before joining NGIC in December 1985, Irving accumulated more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. A graduate of Niagara University in Niagara Falls, N.Y., Irving went on to attend Albany Law School at Union University in Albany, N.Y. He also completed an executive management program at Claremont Graduate School in Claremont, Calif., in 1982.
 Irving began his career in 1963 as a field claims adjuster for Crawford and Company Insurance Adjusters in Philadelphia, and New Haven, Conn. He joined Allstate Insurance Company in 1966 in Trumball, Conn., and transferred to Weston, Mass., as a unit claims manager. In 1974, Irving joined Metropolitan Property and Liability Insurance Company as a district claims manager in Providence, R.I., and was promoted to regional claims manager in 1978.
 Irving joined Brentwood Insurance Company in Mission Viejo, Calif., as vice president of claims in 1981, the position he held when he joined NGIC as vice president of claims in 1985.
 Davenport attended Wilkes College and began his career in an automobile dealership. He worked at Royal Globe Insurance Company before joining Metropolitan Property and Liability in Albany in 1975 as a field property supervisor. He was named property telephone claims handling unit supervisor there in 1977. Davenport transferred to Philadelphia as a property unit manager in 1979. Davenport joined CNA in Reading, Pa., as a regional property analyst in 1981. He was promoted to property division manager one year later.
 Davenport joined NGIC as property claims manager in 1987.
